Thursday = Holiday

Thursday is a holiday in Hong Kong so as luck would have it.. Chris gets to come home a day early!!! I can't wait!!! Now he may have to go back next week for a few days, but hopefully it will be a long while before we do another two weeks apart!!!

Salute our troops parade and Spring Fest

So Saturday Nora and I went to the salute our troops parade and events in downtown Raleigh. It was a great parade and lots of fun! We then headed to Sonic for lunch and went to the Cary SpringFest arts and crafts show. All I am going to say about that is HOT!!! It was the warmest day thus far this year... and I now have the rockin' farmers tan going on!!! Woohoo!!!

More soon ~

Monday blues ~

Well here it is.. day two and I am doing okay! Day 1 went by pretty quick with church with the parents followed by breakfast with them and then some quality time at their house...it continued that evening with dinner with our old next door neighbors from Four Oaks. That was fun and I fell into bed from shear exhaustion!!!
Day two - well its a Monday but overall work kept me busy today and that was a good thing. I went by the store, cooked dinner and now am baking cookies for Jim. Hopefully I can get it all baked tonight and send out his next box tomorrow...

CRAZY Saturday ~

It has been a completely crazy day...
Left the house at 8:10am for a 9am soccer game, then on to tball scrimage (kids against the parents) then the boys had a bday party for the boy next door at Jelly Beans. Left there and took Chris to the airport to see him off for his trip to Hong Kong. It was sad, but I did okay.....
He has called a few times since then... about 10... but I miss him already.

Helping others ~

Gave blood today at the Cary location for the Red Cross....my little way of giving back... without all those 'givers' out there, my mother would probably not be alive today.... so my hat's off to them and hopefully my blood can help someone else's mom..... <3

Sunday update ~

Girls day yesterday as we got hot stone pedicures and enjoyed a nice lunch and some shopping. Tons of fun with Van and Missy. Love it, and thinking we must do it again....

Time out with friends last night... lots of food, fun, good friends and a few to many Long Island Ice Teas... made for a lay around the house and watch movies day!!!

Trenton raised all his grades on his report card! I am thrilled and can't wait to see it tomorrow....

Time to feel better ~

Like many of us, the older I have gotten, the lazier I have become. Well, not so much lazy as involved in other things. Besides working full time and then some, and the boys soccer, tball and baseball, there is life in general, dishes, cooking, cleaning and the ever growing pile of laundry. The problem seems to be that I have lost the focus of taking care of myself. With this I find that I am probably not setting the best example for Trenton and as he enters the pre-teen years, is predisposed to the opportunity to get a little chunky during his growth spurts.
So tonight, we begin the change. Chris and I ran some in the neighborhood, and yes, I thought I was going to pass out.. we ran for about 15 - 20 minutes and he did way better than I did. Then we came home and I broke out the Tae-Bo DVD and introduced Chris to the world of Tae-Bo.. after about 25 minutes of that, I had had about all I could take. I am sooo out of shape. Its sad.. Its depressing and Its time to change. So, the vow had jokingly been made that I would be in better shape when Jim returns and now I am determined to make it so....
I will be hurting tomorrow, but its all good... maybe one of these days I will be able to make it all the way around the block... hahaha!!!!
Wish me luck ~

DC, Busch Gardens and Jamestown

We had a blast - in DC we saw all the usual memorials and historical sites, well most of them at least. We then moved on to spend a full day at Busch Gardens - opened the place at 10am and left when they kicked us out around 8:20pm... it was a long, tiring, but so much fun day!!! Ryan rode his first 'real' roller coaster - The Big Bad Wolf. Chris was gleaming with pride. Trenton and I don't do roller coasters, so we just enjoyed watching and Trenton rode some other rides! Chris and I did a beer tasting and that was very cool. We have some great pics!!
We then moved on to Jamestown, VA the sight of the first colony. We got to see replicas of the ships and the boys got to learn about the way of life back then. All in all it was a great trip and since we stayed with my parents in their time share, it was a great opportunity for them to spend some time with the two boys!!!

One more day of spring break - the boys go back to school on Tuesday - and we head back to work!
